The Blues Maneuver

The Blues Maneuver is one of the Catskill Mountain region’s busiest, swingingest bands. With a versatile repertoire of classic Motown, swing, blues, R&B and oldies, the six-piece band combines top-notch musicianship, impeccable vocals and what the Woodstock Times calls "a mighty horn section." We're proud of our brand new CD, "Bona Fide Flip Side Rhythm and Blues," our second recording for Five-Star Entertainment.

Since 1996, the Blues Maneuver has appeared at more than 500 dates, including clubs, ski lodges, parties, corporate events, reunions, weddings and other events from Massachusetts to Long Island, Cooperstown to New York City. The band features the vocals of front man David (Luther) Krajicek and the soaring guitar of Jesse (Guitar King) Cohen, both veterans of blues and R&B units in New York and the Midwest. Drawing from a vast rep of several hundred tunes, the band can play it all—-from hot swing and R&B horn classics to jazz to dead-on blues to rockin’ oldies, rockabilly and country/western.

The Blues Maneuver band has shared stages with artists such as Roger McGuinn of the Byrds, keyboardist Johnnie "B. Goode" Johnson from Chuck Berry’s band, bluesman Robert Lockwood Jr. and Albany, N.Y., blues legend Ernie Williams.

The Blues Maneuver’s rep of blues and R&B covers includes classics by the likes of Wilson Pickett, Martha and the Vandellas, Leadbelly, James Brown, and Little Milton, as well as contemporary blues by Bonnie Raitt, Keb' Mo, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn. The band features a number of original swing tunes. Its cover rep in that genre includes chestnuts by Louis Jordan and Louie Prima, among many others.

Guitarist Cohen, a Brooklyn native, was a member of The Mighty Mighty Rumprollers in New York. He doubles on alto sax. Krajicek, a vocalist and trombonist from Nebraska, has been fronting bands for 20 years. They are joined by bassist/singer John Heney, late of Randy and the Rainbows; guitarist Ira McIntosh, formerly of the Disciples of Agriculture; percussionist/singer John Kincheloe, a longtime West Coast drummer; vocalist Kate Kincheloe, and Rebecca Harrington, a talented vocalist who joins the band's Chicken Shack horn section on alto and tenor sax and flute.
